Nishikaze Aikido Society of America (NASA) is an association of Aikido teachers and students dedicated to promoting and advancing the technical and philosophical tradition of Aikido developed by Shoji Nishio, Shihan through ongoing research and education.

Nishikaze Aikido Society of America is the official organization of the Nishio method of Aikido in the United States, founded by Koji Yoshida, Shihan, Shoji Nishio’s personally appointed successor and is affiliated with Aikikai Foundation Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan through Yoshida Sensei.  NASA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity educational corporation.

Shoji Nishio was a student of Aikido founder Moriehei Ueshiba. Nishio Sensei was a highly regarded martial art master in numerous disciplines and a great innovator in Aikido. His goal was to advance Aikido into the future, to ensure aikido’s place as an effective and technically sound martial art that adheres to the foundations of Japanese bushido as well as the philosophical vision of the founder.

Our goal is to share an expansive and continually evolving vision for the future of Aikido.

Nishikaze Aikido Society of America provides training, standards and ranking in:

These areas of study form a seamless whole allowing the Aikido practitioner to express Aikido as a budo in a way that is both effective and philosophically consistent with Aikido’s central doctrine of acceptance.
